The Principality of Liechtenstein is located in the Alps between Austria and Switzerland, and has long historical ties with them: before the First World War, Liechtenstein was in allied relations with Austria, after it – with Switzerland. Since then, the Swiss franc has been recognized as the official currency, and Switzerland represents diplomatic and consular interests of Liechtenstein in international relations.
In the legal world, this principality is known for its preferential tax regime, special trust structures, as well as a developed banking sector. And, in addition to agriculture (itβs in the Alps!), it also has a developed industry: precise instrument making, optics, production of vacuum technology, electronic systems, microprocessors is carried out in the territory of the principality. True, not always on their own – a large number of visitors from neighboring countries are involved in the production. Territorial division includes Oberland (Upper Liechtenstein) with its center in Vaduz, and Unterland (Lower Liechtenstein) with its center in Schellenberg.
We chose Liechtenstein as a destination during our long stay in Germany for medical reasons in 2015. Having studied Munich and the surrounding area to a sufficient degree, we decided to visit those places that are of long-standing interest. Therefore, we got to Liechtenstein. Of course, if there is no business purpose (lawyers are attracted by the business here), then spending more than a few days makes little sense. But spending a few meaningful days here is a simple task.
In addition to various castles (Vaduz, Gutenberg, Red House, Schellenberg) and museums (art, national, print and even ski), the local nature is especially attractive – alpine meadows and mountains covered with green forests and flowering meadows.
For example, traveling by carΒ along the winding road to the Three Sisters mountain can add pretty impressions. This mountain with three peaks on the border with Austria is one of the main natural attractions of Liechtenstein. On the way to it, the road passes through picturesque villages and flowering meadows, so it is simply impossible to refrain from constantly photographing or shooting video.
